The Reel Teachers Story

Reel Teachers was founded by Damir Ara a Fine Arts teacher at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago and Andalib Khelghati a principal at Dewey Elementary School in Evanston IL.

In 2010, Damir and Andalib sat down together and realized that there were no comprehensive networks online that focused on creating a large pool of teachers who could easily be contacted for potential job openings.

They started this network to offer an alternative to the way our school districts place substitute teachers and the fact that they do not promote finding the most qualified teachers to fill day-to-day substitute positions.

Once they created Reel Teachers they realized that the problem was not only finding good substitute teachers but also that our schools are still using old or ineffective methods to find available teachers for full-time positions.

With this realization they shifted their focus to create the ultimate educational website that administrators, teachers and parents could use to be able to network professionally.

We are going to change the way that educators search for jobs and get hired. -Says Damir

Today, with Reel Teachers now a reality, it offers the single best resource for employers looking for educators, and educators looking for work.

They offer a full suite of services including:

Easy to build personal profiles

A scheduling calendar

Job referral capability

Teaching Blog and additional features allowing users to connect and share their experience and resources with others.

Students deserve the best teachers. Teachers deserve the best opportunities. Their goal is to bring them together.

Owning a horse can be a fun and rewarding experience for any animal lover. However, horses require an extreme amount of care and attention that may be difficult for some. Below, you will find five tips on how to care for your horse that are sure to make the job easier while improving the quality of life for your equine.

1. Keeping Your Horse Healthy

Keeping your horse healthy and well-fed is important in maintaining these magnificent beasts. To satisfy a horse’s hunger, the animal’s diet should be based on grass and fresh hay. Additionally, the horse should be fed throughout the day and in small amounts. Providing fresh water is also important and should be regulated if the horse is put through strenuous activity. A salt block will also be needed when caring for a horse since it provides electrolytes and will help stabilize body pH.

2. Grooming

One of the most important tools used to groom a horse is the curry comb. This comb should be used in a circular motion to massage and improve circulation on the horse’s skin. In addition, this grooming habit can help relieve muscles from tension while improving the horse’s well-being. Next, a hard bristle brush should used to remove dust and hair from the body of the horse. Due to the stiffness of this brush, it should not be used on the face of the horse. Finally, a soft brush should be employed to clean the horse of any remaining dust and loose hair that may be on the body. The soft brush can also be used to clean the face of the horse without posing any discomfort to the animal. Remember, brushing should always be done with the horse’s hair and not against it.

3. Taking Care of Your Horse’s Tail and Mane

Since the mane and tail of a horse are similar, special attention to both is critical to maintaining the beauty of your horse. A stiff comb can be used to brush the mane and tail. Start at the bottom of the tail or mane and work in sections until you can smoothly brush the entire length of the hair. For your safety, it is recommended that you stand on the side of the horse while brushing to prevent an accidental kicking if the horse is frightened. When washing the tail and mane, you should use a special shampoo that will add a gorgeous shine to its hair.

4. Maintenance of Hooves

To tackle the hooves, a hoofpick is used to remove dirt and rocks that may be stuck next to the horse’s frog. Hoofpicks come in a basic style that should include a handle and a curved pick. Many hoofpicks may also implement a smaller brush that can be used to clean mud and make cleaning easier. Take the hoofpick and remove mud, twigs, rocks, and any other debris that may pose a threat to the balance of the horse. Do not stick the hoofpick between a horseshoe and the foot of the horse since this may cause the shoe to become loosened. By following this tip, the likelihood of the horse losing a shoe is reduced and so is the potential danger of any accidents.

5. Bathing Your Horse

Only shampoos formulated for horses should be used since they will not cause irritation to the animal’s skin. Proceed to washing the horse gently and rinsing thoroughly. Also, do not use shampoo on the face of the horse. It should be cleaned using a wet towel. Next, scrape the horse of water using your hand and pat dry.

The Total Program of Recycling Society must remember to focus on the three parts of the cycle we just call recycling. Recycling is a total...

The Total Program of Recycling

Society must remember to focus on the three parts of the cycle we just call recycling. Recycling is a total program that encompasses th0se 3 R’s. Even people diligent about sending items out for recycling, the last step in the cycle, need to understand the importance of all three steps in the process. If we want to list the Top Five Recycling ideas they should be ideas that involve all three parts of the cycle.

Total Cycle Solutions the Best Recycling

An example of total recycling is as follows. Instead of repeatedly purchasing drinking water in disposable plastic bottles we should buy water filters and use city-water, keeping it reusable containers. That way we have REDUCED our use of plastic, REUSED to container that holds our filtered water and RECYCLE that at the end to start the cycle all over again. Biodegradable filters can be added to a compost piles.

Top Five Ways to Reduce

We need to find ways to reduce the amount of consumables we use. We do that by being smart shoppers and favoring products and services that are green and well designed so that they do not waste. If we favor wasteful products and services we negate our efforts in total.

• Reduce paper use at home and office by making sure we use both sides of the paper
• Reduce paper use when shopping by bringing a cloth bag or sack to carry groceries home.
• Reduce our use of carbon fuels by car pooling or taking mass rapid transit systems
• Reduce use of carbon fuels by using commercial transportation instead of private jets.
• Reduce use of electricity through increased use of solar lighting and power.

Top Five Ways to Reuse Items

Getting the most out of every product we buy is called reusing, and in many cases reuse can be done even before items are recycled. Reusing does not mean just throwing things in the trash.

• Reuse paper we previously ensured was used on both sides by donating used paper to schools for arts and crafts use. Some items can be reused repeatedly in a different matter each time one use is completed.
• The water bottle we used with the water filter is an example of reuse of materials
• Even waste can be reused when we have a compost pile for the garden.
• Some things used in the kitchen are fertilizers for the garden without using the compost pile. Eggshells can be crushed and used in flowerpots as fertilizer for flowers.
• Discarded electronic equipment can be reused by someone else that does not need the latest gadget.

Top Five Ways to Recycle Items Finished Reusing

This is the cycle that everyone thinks about when skipping the first two steps in the cycle. We are not recycling if we throw away plastic water bottles we could have reused after a little cleaning or even metal from metal or steel buildings.

• Melting scrap metals and separating them by specific gravity or molecular weight is excellent recycling
• Melting scrap glass to be used with shredded corn stalks making wood replacement materials.
• Trapping rainwater to use at home and saving that to purify for plant and lawn use is recycling.
• Saving cement and iron from old buildings to make new construction materials is excellent recycling.
• Use items not recyclable in the oceans as artificial reefs to encourage growth of sea life.

Remembering the total cycle is the road to success. If all of us work together and think about the total cycle we can eliminate most waste dumps in our world and improve our environment.

“We believe our growth is due to the continued education of our people and providing excellent service to our customers,” states the motto of the Lee Partyka Chevrolet Mazda Isuzu auto dealership. The company has seen tremendous growth since Leo Partyka Sr. opened a Sunoco service station in 1947 after his release from the navy. From there he acquired his first Chevrolet franchise in East Hampton in 1954. He relocated the present dealership to Hamden in 1964 after Chevrolet realized his growing potential. The Mazda franchise was added in 1974 and the Isuzu Medium Duty franchise was added 10 years later as the dealership continued to grow. Partyka’s son Lee Michael, along with Lee’s wife Robin and daughters Amy, Meg and General Manager Joe Gallagi are dedicated to carrying on the Partyka company legacy, focused on a commitment to serving both community and family.

“We take pride in the vehicles we sell and strive to succeed in great customer experience and satisfaction,” affirms Lee Michael. Investment in their new building showroom-office complex testifies to that fact.

“They were wonderful people to work with,” states senior Olympia Steel Buildings building consultant, Erika Stanford. “It was a very complex project to put together. Without the use of pre-engineered metal building design and construction, it would have been impossible. The cost of doing the same thing with conventional construction practices would have been prohibitive. I’m glad they came to me and came to Olympia. It was a satisfying project for me, and it’s going to be a great looking building, one they can be proud of as their business continues to grow in the years to come.”

The Partyka dealership serves New Haven, Hartford, Waterbury, Bridgeport, Danbury, and New London, CT. They are a no appointment necessary Isuzu, Chevrolet, and Mazda new and used car, truck, SUV dealership and provide body shop, towing, rental cars, glass repair, tires and emissions as well as sales of new and used vehicles.
